After a breakfast of cornflakes and veggie patties (I stuck to the flakes), we had a team meeting
Teams declared:
GB
South Africa
Oman
Sudan
Kazakhstan & Canada combined
Pakistan
India
Lebanon
The team list has been shortened due to visa and other problems, which is a pity.
The 2011 FEI rules are to be used and pegs are 6cm cardboard
We had mandatory tea and coffee and then headed to the stadium to draw horses
Teams picked from a hat one after the other and I drew "Naughty Boy', did wonder about that!! We had to locate horses by a 3 or 4 digit FEI number, which when they aren't in a logical order was a challenge in itself! Unfortunately mine was a rather tall skinny looking horse with a nasty lump on his spine. When pressed this resulted in a buck, so team manager Dawn had to declare as unfit. The vet checked and as he tried to kick the vet he agreed!
Jerry and David were happy as both drew Marwari horses, Gerald had a nice bay and I bagged the spare horse a cute pony called "Power" probably around 14.2hh!
Our practise was not until 4pm so we settled on the stands to watch the first teams practise
